| VARIETAL REPLACEMENT

| A. PADDY |
|
Problem diagnose:: Low yield of paddy (575 Kg/ha) due to old and long duration and found low quality and less market price variety (IR-36). Affected area was identified as 400 ha.
Intervention: The introduction of scented variety Pusa -1121.

Results:The variety Pusa-1121 recorded a mean yield 3208 Kg/ha which was 80% higher than that of obtained with farmers practices yield of 1754 K/ha.
Impact:The farmers were convinced with the variety Pusa-1121. The adoption of the variety has been extended in the district and covered up to 40 ha area in the village, while looked over the outstanding performance of the variety all seed of Pusa-1121 has been distributed among the paddy growing ones in demonstrated village.

| B. BLACK GRAM |
|
Problem diagnose:Low yield (375 Kg/ha) due to old susceptible against YMV variety T-9. The affected area was 30,000.
Intervention:Introduced YMV resistant variety i.e. Azad-1.

Results:The YMV resistant variety Azad-1 recorded a mean yield of 975 Kg/ha which was 102% higher than that of local variety T-9(482 Kg/ha).
Impact:The variety has been sown in 25,000 ha area in the district which is 38% of total area under black gram during recent year 2010. The seed replacement area has been increased from 2.5 to 11.18% in the district.

| C. SOYBEAN |
|
Problem diagnose:Low yield (875 Kg/ha) due to adoption of old variety JS-335 under erratic rainfall condition.
Intervention:The KVK Tikamgarh introduced early maturing, high yielding soybean variety JS 93-05.

Results:The soybean variety JS 93-05 recorded a mean yield of 2108 Kg/ha which was 14% higher than that of old variety JS -335(1854 Kg/ha).
Impact: It covered about 16000 ha area of the total soybean sown in the district, recently. The seed replacement area has been increased from 62 to 85.9% in the district.

| D. GRAM |
|
Low yield (800 Kg/ha) due to local variety Type-1 (Khazuwa), affected area 9000 ha.
Intervention:Introduced high yielding and wilt resistant variety JG-130.
|

|
Results:The gram variety JG-130 recorded a mean yield of 2108 Kg/ha which was 67.1% higher than that of local variety Type-1(1214 Kg/ha).
Impact:It variety is now covered about above 15000 ha of the total gram sown in the district. The seed replacement area has been increased from 19 to 23% in the district.

| E. WHEAT |
|
Problem diagnose:Low yield (1720 Kg/ha) due to adoption of old variety HD-1553), affected area 30000 ha.
Intervention:The KVK Tikamgarh introduced latest high yielding wheat variety GW-322 under irrigated condition.

Results:The wheat variety GW-322 recorded a mean yield of 5750 Kg/ha which was 36% higher than that of old variety HD-1553(4225 Kg/ha).
Impact:It adoption of GW-322 now is in 15000 ha of the total wheat sown in the district. The seed replacement area has been increased from 16 to 38% in the district.
