Problem diagnose:Lack of quality seed and low seed replacement ratio in the district.

Intervention:Capacity building through trainings programme, thrice in seasons.

Results: The traditional occupation of Sh. Ramesh Yadav was milk selling. His total earning during 1994-95 from milk selling was only Rs. 39000. Ramesh asked advice from KVK, Tikamgarh for establishing an agro-based enterprise. KVK scientists have suggested him to join the vocational training on commercial seed production. After success completion of vocational training, he has started seed production activities with MP Rajya Beej Evam Farm Vikas Nigam, Kundesawar, Tikamgarh in the year 1997. At present, Mr. Ramesh Yadav is now being producing quality seed of soybean, gram and wheat from his own seed production society. Most of the loan, he was brought from the bank has been repaid. Now he is a successful seed grower of soybean, wheat and gram with assets (Go-down, seed grader, Electronic balance, Bag enclosure and tractor-trolley of Rs. 15 lacs ). At looking his success in the enterprise selected 8 farmers resisted their own as seed grower in Tikamgarh district. He generated the income Rs. 95 lac with the employment generation of 2920 man-days in 2008-2009.

Impact:: Looking over success of Shri. Ramesh Yadav in the seed production enterprise 18-farmers registered their own seed cooperative societies in the district. In recent year, the district has become self-sufficient due to availability of quality seed of soybean, urd, wheat and gram. During the last Rabi and on going Kharif the total 1200-farmers are involved in the seed production. The seed replacement ratio has been increased from 17.90 to 36.20 percent during 2009-10. The employment generation has reached up to 58,400 man days / year.
